Karen is an artist that enjoys the exploration and journey within the very act of painting and drawing. It is her ongoing interest in colour and line that fuels Karen’s personal art practice, an activity she wishes to share within her classes at Ettalong Beach Arts and Crafts Centre. Students partake in studio based studies that include still life and figurative work along with the experience of creating work outdoors utilising natural light and direct observation (en plein air). Mark making materials including charcoal, pastels, acrylics and oils are investigated with a ‘try it and find out’ attitude encouraged.

Karen holds a Degree in Visual Arts (Sydney College of the Arts) and Visual Arts Diploma (TAFE, Hunter institute). She regularly exhibits her own work in both group and solo shows.
