Peace Bag Surf Bag

Have you an old pair of jeans or a denim skirt hanging around? Join this workshop and learn how to de-construct a denim skirt or pair of jeans and recycle into a shoulder bag or tote bag. You will learn how to design and construct a new bag and how to embellish it using a variety of techniques.

  • Tutor: Donna Jones
  • Dates:  Saturdays 28th May and 4th June 2016
  • Time: 9am – 12 noon
  • Workshop Fee: $80
  • Membership: $20 if not already an EBACC member
  • Students to provide
    • An adult size denim skirt or pair of denim jeans. Must be made of 100% cotton with no stretch or synthetic blends
    • Paper and pencils for design work
    • Sewing machine
      • If you do not have your own sewing machine, EBACC has a limited number available. Please indicate if you would like to use an EBACC machine at the time of booking.
    • Cotton thread
    • Fabric scissors
    • Tape measure
    • Pins
    • Any embellishments they wish to use: e.g. buttons, lace, ribbon, beads, other fabric etc.
  • The tutor will provide:
    • A selection of embellishments that students may choose to use. These will be available for a small cost.

Gelatine Plate Printing

Gelatine printing is a form of mono printing using a gelatine slab printing plate with water soluble paints. You will be able to create your own images suitable for card making, scrap booking and art design projects.

This simple process offers endless opportunities to produce your own designs on paper using stencils, soft tip tools and other textures. Students will be encouraged to experiment with different techniques such as collage and layered printing, to explore colour combinations and to consider alternative media including fabric as a printing surface option.

  • Dates:   Sundays – 15th and 22nd May 2016
  • Time: 10am – 12 noon
  • Workshop Fee: $60
  • Membership Fee: $20 if not already an EBACC member
  • Tutor will supply the required materials at a cost of $20 per student:

Additional Patchwork and Quilting Class!

Due to the overwQuilt Fronthelming popularity of our existing Patchwork and Quilting class we have started a SECOND class on Tuesday mornings from 9:30am – 11:30am. Whether you are a beginner or have been sewing for decades you will find a friendly atmosphere in which to learn or enhance your skills, led by our very talented tutor.

EBACC Children’s Pottery – Places Available

 

A proud potter

Our Children’s Pottery class runs on a Monday afternoon from 4.00pm – 5:30pm and is always popular but this term we do have a small number of spaces available.

The class is for children aged from 7 – 14 years old. The cost for the 8-week term is $100 and this covers all expenses (clay, glazes, tools and apron). The new term for this class starts on Monday 8th February 2016.

If you have a child who would love to make their own unique piece of artwork then this is a great opportunity for them to express their creativity.

EBACC Watercolour Workshops

We are delighted to be able to offer not one but two workshops catering for both potential and experienced watercolour artists. Both workshops will be led by our very talented, award-winning tutor, Judith Hoste.

The first workshop will be on Saturday 5th March 2016 and will be for beginners.

The second workshop will be on Saturday 19th March and this will be for advanced students.

  • Time: 10am – 3pm
  • Workshop Fee: $75 per workshop

We are limiting the numbers to ensure each student receives plenty of attention and therefore we anticipate that these classes will fill up quickly.

Ettalong Beach Arts and Crafts is offering a Functional Art Glass workshop for the very first time and already most of the places have gone. There is just one place remaining.

  • Dates: Saturdays 5th March 2016 and 12th March 2016
  • Time: 9am – 12 noon
  • Workshop Fee: $80
  • Membership: $20 if not already an EBACC member
  •  Additional Costs: the tutor will provide the glass and the tools needed and students will be required to pay the tutor for these.  Also, kiln firing will be charged at $10 per kilogram
  • Students will need to bring along a basic face mask and safety glasses (if you do not wear glasses).

If you are looking for some fun and frivolity on the weekend of 14th & 15th November this year you need go no further than the Coast Community Connections, Peninsula Community Centre at 93 McMasters Road Woy Woy.

During the day there will be a variety of singers, artists, musicians and members from Woy Woy School of Music displaying their talents, all helping to make the show welcoming and lively.

Ettalong Beach Arts & Craft Centre hosts an annual exhibition with beautiful gifts and artworks to suit every taste.

You will be impressed by the variety of hand crafted jewellery, paintings, pottery, quilts and hand sewn items made by our talented tutors and students. Every year our members manage to excel themselves when creating new and exciting artworks with care knowing they may be purchased as gifts for family and friends.

There will be the ever popular face painting for children, but we did have a few grandparents just trying it out for fun. And of course – the marvellous Shelly showing us how to make sun catchers, a true delight for the young and not quite so young!

This year in addition to all the exciting things we are bringing you we now have credit card facilities available for the benefit of our members and guests.

If you visited us last year you would know all about the magnificent café leading us down the road to temptation with a tasty treat, savoury or sweet – all home made goods – to have with your cup of tea or coffee while resting your feet. (what a good excuse to linger near the food).

For the discerning shopper there is just no better place to be to select the perfect gift for that someone special in your life. So just come in and shelter from the sun or rain – any excuse will do!

Fabric Colouring Workshop

Ever wanted to try dyeing your own fabrics? Have you been put off by the mess that dyeing fabric at home always seems to involve? Come along and try this very clever technique.

Create shades and blends of colours that you would not have thought possible – and with no previous knowledge or experience required.

  1. This fabric colouring system works on any fabric type
  2. Colours can be mixed from nine pure pigments to create any colour you want
  3. Concentrated colours can be diluted or mixed to create any tint or shade
  4. No heating or messy powder mixing required
  5. A non-toxic, non-polluting product that is permanently set with a simple iron

Versatile, quick, easy, beautiful, effective and FUN!

This method allows for maximum creativity with minimal fuss. Create your own personal fabrics for all your craft, soft furnishing and dress-making projects.

  • Dates: 17th and 24th October 2015
  • Time: 1pm to 4pm
  • Fees: $80 plus $15 membership if not already an EBACC member
  • Fabric paints to be provided by the tutor: $5 per student
  • Students to provide their own fabric for practice pieces. Ideally pieces of white or light coloured plain fabric. Homespun cotton is good or even a recycled old white sheet is fine. A total of 12 pieces (35 x 35 cm) required
