2017 – Small Number of EBACC Class Places Available

Are you looking forward to a creative year? If so, you will be pleased to hear that EBACC has a very small number of class places available for Term 1, 2017. The classes that currently have a small number of places are:

  • Patchwork and Quilting on Tuesdays from 9:30 – 11:30
  • Painting and Drawing on Wednesdays from 11:30 – 1:30

These places are bound to go quickly so if you are interested, don’t delay.

EBACC Crochet Workshop

EBACC is offering a Crochet Workshop that will cater for both beginners and those who are already able to crochet and want to move on and learn free-form crochet.  Crochet is very popular at the moment and this workshop is certain to fill up quickly.

Free Form Crochet - 2 Free Form Crochet - 1

Free form crochet allows you to create and design items without having to follow a pattern – just using your own imagination and creativity. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to begin your path to learning this fun technique.

  • Tutor: Sabine Parge
  • Dates: Saturdays 8th and 15th October 2016
  • Time: 12 noon to 3pm
  • Workshop Fee: $80
  • Membership: $20 if not already an EBACC member
  • Students to bring:
    • Three crochet hooks – sizes 3, 4.5 and 6 and a pair of scissors
    • Yarn of any colour or texture – even small amounts can be used

The tutor will bring along wool to supplement that brought by the students

EBACC Children’s Holiday Workshop

Does your child enjoy making things, arts and crafts, dressing up and movies? Would they like an opportunity to create a weird and wonderful creature or character?

Costume Making 1

EBACC is running a special school holiday workshop for children aged 7 – 16 years.

Children will have the opportunity to let their imagination run wild, dreaming up a never before imagined fantasy character and then creating a costume for their character. They will then have an opportunity to wear their costume in a movie being filmed on the Central Coast in 2016.

Children will be provided with plenty of inspiration to fuel their imagination.

  • Date:  Wednesday 6th July 2016
  • Time: 1pm – 4pm
  • Workshop Fee: $30
  • Tutor will supply materials for the costume including paper, cardboard, fabrics, masks and second hand clothes

EBACC Workshop: Create a Shibori Style Bag

Shibori is a distinctive style of dyeing fabric that was developed in Japan and is currently very popular in Australia. Here is a unique opportunity to learn this stunning technique and create a very special bag.

Shibori Bag

Students will use the technique to create a length of fabric and then use the fabric to make a padded bag with eight pockets that would be suitable as a baby bag, a craft bag, picnic bag …… or anything else! Students will have the option of also making a matching baby changing mat.

  • Dates:  Saturdays 30th July, 6th and 13th August 2016
  • Time: 9am – 12 noon
  • Workshop Fee: $100

  • Tutor will supply:
    • Fabric dyes at a cost of $3 per student
  • Students will be required to bring along a list of readily available materials.  A full list will be supplied on request or registration.

Want to recycle your old denim? Join this workshop!

Peace Bag Surf Bag

Have you an old pair of jeans or a denim skirt hanging around? Join this workshop and learn how to de-construct a denim skirt or pair of jeans and recycle into a shoulder bag or tote bag. You will learn how to design and construct a new bag and how to embellish it using a variety of techniques.

  • Tutor: Donna Jones
  • Dates:  Saturdays 28th May and 4th June 2016
  • Time: 9am – 12 noon
  • Workshop Fee: $80
  • Membership: $20 if not already an EBACC member
  • Students to provide
    • An adult size denim skirt or pair of denim jeans. Must be made of 100% cotton with no stretch or synthetic blends
    • Paper and pencils for design work
    • Sewing machine
      • If you do not have your own sewing machine, EBACC has a limited number available. Please indicate if you would like to use an EBACC machine at the time of booking.
    • Cotton thread
    • Fabric scissors
    • Tape measure
    • Pins
    • Any embellishments they wish to use: e.g. buttons, lace, ribbon, beads, other fabric etc.
  • The tutor will provide:
    • A selection of embellishments that students may choose to use. These will be available for a small cost.
